I am just sending a reminder to everyone that besides school starting,
I am also needing everyone's Cannery orders for the month of October.
Please remind the members of your ward (both men and women) of the
deadline - August 31 at 5pm.
The sessions which we have reserved for the Katy Stake are as follows:
October 7th - 10am - 2pm (Thursday)
October 23rd - 2pm - 6pm (Saturday)
This is an excellent time to start working on replenishing or
beginning longer term food storage - or deciding what food can be
incorporated into your normal weekly use. Please encourage your ward
members to take advantage of either of these 2 sessions.
As a reminder, if anyone orders food in cans or pouches, they are
expected to go help process all of the food that is ordered by our
entire stake. It is a group effort between those who have ordered.
There are no [dry pack] "cannery assignments" as some may have
experienced in other states. If anyone cannot attend, but they want
to order the food, they must be willing to find someone to go in their
place, and they must be willing to do a service for that person in
turn. This could be babysitting, a dinner made, help with a church
assignment, etc.
