Why: We're blessed to have Douglas E Brinley, one of the Church's foremost experts on marriage and family, join us for a fireside entitled "Improving Marriages the Lord's Way". Below is a short bio on Bro Brinley to help you get acquainted with him.

Douglas E. Brinley graduated in Economics from Utah State and received a Ph.D from Brigham Young University in Family Studies. He retired as a Professor of Church History & Doctrine at BYU in 2008. He has authored or co-authored or edited 14 books, 13 of which are on marriage and family topics. A few include "Between Husband & Wife: Gospel Perspectives on Marital Intimacy", "First Comes Love", (for those preparing for marriage), its sequel "Then Comes Marriage" and "Living a Covenant Marriage".
His latest book, co-authored with David Brinley (a member of our stake) is called A Marital Tune-up Kit. He also just published a book entitled, Singles in a Married Church. He had an article in the January Ensign of 2012 on ten ways to improve marriage. He and his wife, Geri, have led two tours to the Holy Land. They just completed a mission together in the California Fresno mission.
