Black Beans, Sausage and Rice AKA: Feijoada - Lisa Anderson

My aunt Jane is brazilian and I love her black beans, sausage and rice recipe served over rice:
Feijoada

Ingredients:

1 Lbs of black beans, also called Navy beans

I medium to large onion. 6 cloves of garlic

1 tablespoon of chicken bouillon Knorr

2 Hillshire Farm Beef Polska Kielbasa

You’ll need a Crock Pot to cook the beans.

If you are going to make for Almoco – lunch, then you must put the beans, onions & garlic in the crock pot before you go to bed at night and add the sausage and bouillon in the morning when the beans are tender.

For dinner about 8 o’clock in the morning. Rinse beans, add water to cover 2 inches above the beans and cook on low in the crock pot. Also put in the chopped onions and garlic.

Check them by noon to see if they are completely cooked by smashing on one of the beans with a fork. If they are not completely cooked let them cook until tender. If they are cooked then add the Kielbasa cut into small circles/wheels. And also add the chicken bouillon.

Let them cook on slow if it is noon, but if it is past 2 o’clock in the afternoon, then let cook on high to eat around 5 or 6pm.
